On this page I have listed all of the kit's that I have available along with the pricing. Electronics parts are available from many sources. The advantage of buying a kit from me is you get all the parts you need to do one of my modifications in one complete kit. The parts come packed individually in plastic bags, marked with the part number, making it easy to identify which parts are which. My prices are reasonable and I ship by USPS Priority Mail, which is the most cost effective shipping method for small packages with great service (US addresses only).
note: Sorry for the increase in shipping, USPS just bumped their prices >16%. It's still a good deal compared to the other shippers.
This is a post phase inverter type of MV, which retains the tone of the amp much better as you turn it down. This helps to get the lead channel cooking a little better while keeping the overall volume down. And it also helps get the clean channel warmed up and keep the volume down. This is one of the most useful of the VT50 mods, I use it so much I can't imagine not having it.Highly recommended.
The Stage II mod involves replacing almost all resistors and capacitors in the lead channel of the amp and results in much smoother distortion and greatly enhanced clarity and definition. Each note of a chord can be clearly and disctinctly heard without the fuzzy muddiness of the stock amp. Allows you to use the Soak beyond 3, all the way to dimed if wanted. I typically play my Nomad with the Soak set at 6, no muddiness, just great classic rock distortion and plenty of it! Besides enhanced smoothness of the distortion this mod revoices the channel, inspired by vintage British amps, the tweed on the outside of the amp doesn't really fit the character of a Stage II modified amp. Great classic rock, blues rock, even approaching 80's metal type tones available.
Includes parts for the Attitude mod.
No step by step instructions for this mod, the kit comes with a schematic for you to work from. Intended for more advanced skill level as the amount of work involved in much more intense than with the Stage I mods.
